Why do I write this post??

Why do I write this blog? I just thought for a moment.I started to love Cricket once again because of sensational cricketing by India. Yes, it is true that the love for cricket has gone down for a very long time. I could recollect the days, when I run down from school to immediately switch on TV to see if Tendulkar is still playing. If not, I switch it off and do something else. Yes, it was that interesting when Sachin was playing and yes, that's the reason we love him so much and that's because of him we were glued to TV to watch India matches...

As Sachin was about to retire, we had the likes of Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sehwag, Dravid, Gambhir, Zaheer, Bajji and many more in the Indian side who gave hope to billions of Indians. To be honest, the retirement of Sachin was worrying scene but definitely, people of India didn't lose hope. They continued watching Cricket and India did win some of the crucial matches all over world but India started losing many matches as they have lost many key star players. Yes, India has lost all the above stated players except Dhoni and Dhoni also doesn't find his own in these time and even still...

Indian team was having a real grey period and how would I be motivated to watch Indian cricket. Indian cricket was having its worst of its time and cricket wasn't interesting at all. Not only India matches but also matches around the world were one sided. Ashes got bored. Indian home series were favouring Indian side and Indian team is winning it comfortable. But whenever India goes to foreign nations, Indian team gets defeated comfortably.

Its easy to say they didn't bat well or bowl well or didn't do both well. I am not here criticising the team but just saying the perspective of a Indian cricket fan. It was really disappointing to see Indian team get defeated each time in foreign soil. And especially, losing the test matches within 3 three days was so disheartening.

Once upon a time, I used to blame Rahul Dravid for playing so slow and not scoring quick runs in test cricket. But only now I understand, Rahul Dravid was the real fit for test cricket. I looked around for someone of Rahul Dravid caliber but India chose K L Rahul who tries T20 stuff in Test Cricket. Not to blame K L Rahul but this is the situation. Rohit Sharma was a failure, Rahane too, Dhawan sometimes ok, Vijay was good in India, Hardik Pandya, god only knows why he is in the side. Most players were only with exceptions. You can never tell anyone is complete or being dependable.

Then this guy, Kohli, playing for long time, being sidelined as one day and T20 player in the beginning, to becoming the No.1 player in Test Player Ranking. This guy has brought in the belief that Tendulkar gave decades ago and Dhoni gave a decade ago. His last 1000 runs in ODI cricket, came just in 11 innings at a staggering average of 140+. Has be any plans to get out? Is he a slogger? Does he have any special technique that others are not having?

Answer to all this is No, he plays risk free proper Cricket where he plays every ball on merit and keeps the scorecard ticking without being worried about the opposition or pitch or any external factor. He plays just proper cricket without any risk being taken. Is he a slow run getter? No, his strike rate at the end of the innings would be in 130+. How is he able to do it? Why is his counter parts aren't able to do this? What goes inside his mind? Does he get nervous in the 90s? Which types of balls does it bother him? Nobody in the world, knows it. But does he bother about it? He doesn't seem to.

He is in formidable touch at the moment and brought back the life in cricket in this modern age. Well, I just spoke about this current touch in ODIs, but this form in Test cricket is even more impressive. Continuous hundreds in every test series. He scores hundreds even when the home team players weren't able. He takes India near to victory but the winning the match most often or not in the hands of others players in the team, and they fail, they fail, they fail everytime. That's really hard on me, Indian team fans and also on Kohli.

He is at the top of world cricket now and hope he does lot of achievements in cricket and add more pride to Indian cricket and Indian people. Last but not least, being a CSK fan, I wanted RCB to win only because of Kohli. This guy deserves it. I am very proud to call myself Kohli's fan.
