Kohli - The Run Machine
Kohli, The King Kohli, The Run Machine and much more adjectives suite to the one only our own Kohli, the Indian captain, and the greatest batsman in the current era.
Is Run making so easy nowadays? Not sure, but many teams are scoring 300+ totals in ODIs nowadays. Not sure, if the batsman have got better or the pitches have become batting friendly or the bowlers have become less skilled...
We can ask numerous whys, but there is this one guy Kohli who stands before all opponents, all kinds of pitches, different conditions, and all kind of bowling attacks. Without making any excuses about the conditions or the pitches, he plays extra ordinary cricket day in and out. There was so much of buzz before the India - England Series in England that Kohli is not the greatest because he hasn't played well against England in the previous serious in 2014.
But the way he played in England clearly shows that he had no doubt in his performance and played to his absolute best and became the man of the Series. Many tried to put pressure on him to pull him down stating he would be easily get out to Anderson pretty cheaply. But the guts shown by this guy throughout the series shows the amount of effort and hard work that he had put in the background to display such great quality of Cricket.
I think it goes by the saying, that no ones throws stone on a fruitless tree. Its 100% true in his case, the rest of the India had great players but Of Course, none of the cricket fraternity discussion were around them. Only this guy, Kohli was targeted and man, he replied it pretty convincingly with the bat to shup up everyone. If this guy was supported by few of the Indian batters, definitely India would have emerged as the winners of that Series.
The amount of the pressure that he carries on his shoulders is the same amount of pressure that Sachin Tendulkar carried decades ago. Everyone was talking and focusing on one particular guy. Is it the same now? This guys performs again and again, and has made every one to expect the same out of him. I am little worried, how this India team would perform if Kohli is not in top of his game.
Just look at the last T20 world cup, one guy who single handedly took the team India to semis and even played stunning innings in the semi finals but unfortunately ended in a losing cause.
In the year 2018, he has scored over 1000+ run which includes 5 centuries with an average of 149 in just 11 innings. Oh my god, has anyone bettered than him? He is definitely a genius at work and blessing to the Indian cricket team. No wonder he is loved by billions of people.
His Test Cricket records were more glorious than his ODI records, he has 4,5, and 4 centuries in the years 2016, 2017 and 2018 respectively. He has scored 3, and 3 double hundreds in the years 2016 and 2017. His average was above 70+ in the years 2016 and 2017 and 59+ in 2018.
And it is no surprise that King Kohli is the No.1 player in ODIs and Test Cricket.
How is he able to do it with such ease? What would be his mindset as soon as he is at crease? What does he decide his mode of play in each innings? Why is he able to make runs at ease? Why is he able to make runs match after match? Is it all because of his fitness routine and diet? Is it because of his mental strength? Is it because of his love for the sport and nation?
